Akshay Kumar Celebrates Rowdy Rathore Anniversary With Boss
When something starts working for them, expect our Bollywood superstars to be sticking to the winning formula. Akshay Kumar has done exactly that for his upcoming film Boss. He has locked the film's arrival to be next summer and set the release date as June 7. Incidentally, this would be exactly a year after Rowdy Rathore which enjoyed a massive response when it released on 1st June this year.
"In the times when release dates are becoming more and more precious with every passing year, every superstar worth his salt is keen on blocking a date for him on a yearly basis. While the fight has so far been centered on festive occasions, there are other important dates available only on premium. Akshay feels that 1st week of June is good for an action entertainer of his to release and since the summer season is considered to be one of the most lucrative for Bollywood, he has chosen June 7 for bringing his Boss. This way, the film would also mark one year anniversary of Rowdy Rathore", informs a source.
Given the fact that Boss, which is being directed by Anthony D'Souza, has just gone on floors, a deadline being set for other cast members and crew means the film has to be completed in quick time.
"That's the way Akshay works", says a close associate, "Since he releases an average of three to four films a year, he can't afford to drag his films beyond a certain point. He starts 2013 with Special Chabbis while his big ticket film Once Upon A Time In Mumbai 2 is already confirmed for August 8 release. His Boss had to arrive in between and what better date than to arrive exactly a year after Rowdy Rathore."
Moreover, with Emraan Hashmi and Vidya Balan starrer Ghanchakkar being the only other confirmed release in June, Akshay's Boss is pretty much expected to rule like one on its arrival next year.
